Job Description

Our client located in Glendale, CA has an immediate need for a Sr. Project Manager with skillset in Change Management, strong verbal & written communication and highly organized work break downs.
 
ITIL cert would be preferred as well as good knowledge of SQL SERVER.
 
The ideal candidate will have 7years of experience as a Project Manager with preferably 5+ technical background.
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
• Lead the successful execution of projects through proper management of scope schedule and budget. • Create and manage supporting project documents including but not limited to project plans, risk mitigation plans, communication plans, budgets, as well as other project management-related documentation. • Manage multiple unrelated projects simultaneously. • Gather various elements of project performance data and routinely report such to the project team, stakeholders and DTSS leadership. • Maintain constant oversight of project budgets through assimilation of actual cost data and reforecasting of expected total costs. • Review and manage all changes to the requirements through a formally defined scope change process. • Oversee testing activities of QA team (little).
 
• Extensive, hands-on Project Management in change management required. • This person will be managing the groups that are doing the upgrades. (internal matrix). • Experience developing and executing User Acceptance Test Plans (at point of sign off from business partners). • Experience managing software upgrade projects. . • Experience managing budgets and reporting financial status of projects. • Experience managing projects using a formal SDLC (Waterfall and Agile) and business analysis methodologies. • Knowledge of Microsoft Project. • PMP a plus. • CSM a plus. ITIL certification so they understand proper change management language.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
 
• Proven ability to execute high-profile projects and to provide thought leadership to the organization. • Expert level knowledge of industry and professional organization (PMI) practices in managing projects. • Demonstrated excellence in communications (verbal and written), presentation, financial management, analytical and customer focus skills. • Proven track record working with both technical & functional teams. • Able to document and communicate progress against plans, taking corrective action as necessary. • Able to review project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards. • Expertise in managing relationships and negotiating changes to commitments/requirements. • Able to see tasks through to completion with little to no guidance.
 
BA/BS degree or equivalent
