Job Overview:


Entry level role part of a cross-functional team within the Enterprise Data Solutions (EDS) or Data Warehouse, department providing Ad Hoc consultative services to global business partners at all levels within the organization. This position requires good working knowledge of all the EDS data categories (Single/Dual Message, Fraud, ALM, etc.) housed in the various data-marts within EDS. EDS currently maintains data stores in Oracle, Netezza and SQL-Server repositories. It is equally important for the position to develop a great understanding of all data categories and how each correlates to the transaction lifecycle; providing ad hoc business intelligence to both internal and external customers.




Some of the major accountabilities are, but not limited to the following:


• Provide customer service to our customers and business partners and manage daily workflow coordination (group Ad Hoc mailbox) for the ad hoc developers


• Act as the front line liaison to our internal customers and business partners in a consultative role documenting key constraints/business requirements on their ad hoc requests; ensure funding it secured and properly booked


• Provide data ad hoc services globally for RFPs, Litigations, FBI, Production Incidents, governmental regulatory requests, Advisors, Global Marketing/Priceless Cities, key business insights, core releases/enterprise projects, etc.;


• Deliver quality business intelligence ad hoc solutions in a timely and cost effective manner


• Adhere to any committed SLA’s, Data Usage & Protection/Privacy and PCI policies, as well as deadlines associated with litigations and government regulatory items from the LFI department.


• Collaborate across EDS data teams to ensure quality data delivery of all ad hoc requests


• Obtain a great knowledge of EDS Enterprise Intelligence tools to offer self-help Business Intelligence (BI) solutions to our internal customers


• Accountabilities will include some but not necessarily all based upon specific role:


o Act as liaison between the business and technical teams in such areas as data quality, merchant analysis, help desk support, compliance and government regulations, audits and controls and report definition and creation.


o Develop conceptual designs and mock-up screens


o Prioritize and identify cross application/system enhancements, i.e. improve team efficiency


o Determine development impacts to current processing and work with programmers and users to ensure accuracy of enhancements


o Assist with the development and execution of test plans


o Perform analysis of system requirements and work closely with developers


o Assist with review sessions of technical requirements


o Document and coordinate audit controls and PCI requirements


o Create and manage departmental statistics through monthly dashboards and analysis


o Provide assistance in triaging support inquires to enterprise self-help tools


o Conduct basic training on internal BI Tools




Job Requirements

Education:


• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Management


• Information Systems or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.




Knowledge / Experience:


• 0 -1year of experience in related field; prior work experience preferred (i.e. internship)


• Good technical knowledge and capability


• Communication across and up an organization


• Demonstration of MC Core Competencies




Skills/ Abilities:


• High degree of initiative and self-motivation with a willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities


• Must be a team player, detail-oriented, proactive and have the ability to function under pressure in an independent environment; possess leadership initiative and self-motivation to drive results


• Ability to work with global business partners at all levels within the organization demonstrating strong communication skills (both verbal and written)


• Possess strong relationship management, collaboration, organizational and prioritization skills with a sense of urgency


• Analytical skills with an understanding of Business Intelligence solutions for customers


• Additional skills: Project Management skills, Microsoft Office (Outlook), Preferred Skills: SQL, UNIX, and Oracle environments; experience in understanding of Exadata/Oracle/Netezza/SQL server databases
